Last week the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) ran out of funds, exhausting the $349 billion allocated for it in the CARES Act. The Jewish community, together with the entire non-profit sector, has urgently asked Congress to provide more support for this critical program. While many nonprofits have been able to access the PPP loans, others still have applications in process and are struggling to continue to serve needy and vulnerable groups.
In Washington, D.C. we are fortunate to have advocates on both sides of the political aisle who support expanding this program. Two leading members of the United States Senate — Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), who created the Paycheck Protection Program, are joining us on a webinar to provide an insiders’ briefing on Congress’ response to COVID-19.
Please join us to thank them for their efforts, to learn more about next steps, and to continue to advocate for the needs of our community and our neighbors.
