The conference, titled "Ancient Hatred, Modern Medium," will be the first-ever U.S. government-sponsored event focusing on this topic.
The Internet has digitally connected our world in ways that have dramatically advanced the human condition. But these global connections are also vectors of societal ills, including anti-Semitism, the ancient hatred of Jews. The U.S. Department of State, with the goal of developing a unified response to this burgeoning menace, will bring together leaders of government, religious and civil society, social media platforms, and academia to devise effective counterstrategies that combat anti-semitism while upholding America’s longstanding commitment to free speech.
Hosted by Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo
Participants will include:
Deputy AG Jeffrey Rosen, Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Elan Carr, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Members of Congress, the UK Parliament and Israeli Knesset, EC Coordinator on Combating Anti-Semitism Katharina von Semitism Katharina von Semitism Katharina von Schnurbein , IHRA President, Amb. Michaela Küchler, UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief Dr. Ahmed Shaheed, and many more.
