The Philip and Muriel Berman Center for Jewish Studies and the JCC’s Jewish and Israeli Film Festival will co-present “Footnote,” the 2011 Academy Award nominee for Best Foreign Film, on Sunday, March 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Lehigh University in the Whitaker Auditorium. The screening will be introduced by writer and director Joseph Cedar, whose 2007 film “Beaufort” was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Film. A discussion and Q&A will follow. Refreshments will be served following the presentation. This event is free and open to the community. In “Footnote,” Cedar presents a complex tale of bitter rivalry between a father and son who are both Talmud scholars. The film won the Best Screenplay Award at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and nine awards at the 2011 Ophir Awards in Israel.
