The Sturgeon Queen is about the four generations of the Jewish family who have run the famed Lower East Side smoked fish emporium Russ & Daughters for 100 years. It features interviews with the original daughters-now 100 and 92 years olf- for whom the store was named, and prominent customers like Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Mario Batali. The film is narrated by a group of longtime Russ & Daughters customers, including Ben Waxman who will be here and will speak after the film. The film's producer, Emmy Award winning filmmaker Julie Cohen, will introduce the film.
