As the differences between the Jewish and Muslim communities play out on the world stage, it is more important than ever for the local communities to come together and educate one another. The Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley and Congregation Keneseth Israel will be co-sponsoring the second in a series of programs with the Muslim Association of the Lehigh Valley intended to foster stronger relationships between the communities based on mutual beliefs and practices. This program will focus on the role of women in Islam.

Rubina Tareen, the Interfaith Chaplain at Alvernia University and a proud Muslim woman, will provide an overview of what it means to be a practicing Muslim woman in the modern world. Following this, Brother Rizwan Butt, a member of the Muslim Association of the Lehigh Valley, will provide an overview of the role that Muslim women play in the Koran.

Program is free and open to the community. RSVP to aaron@jflv.org.

Sponsored by the Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley, Congregation Keneseth Israel Adult Education Committee and The Muslim Association of Lehigh Valley.
