Jewish Federations are thankful for President Biden's inclusion of $200 million for the life-saving Nonprofit Security Grant Program in the Supplemental Funding Request for Congress.
“Unfortunately, we know from experience that when terrorists attack Israel, antisemites are emboldened to target Jews here at home," said Karen Paikin Barall, Associate Vice President, Public Affairs and Executive Director of Advocacy Corp for Jewish Federations of North America.
"Jewish Federations are grateful that Congress is working to protect our community and other faith communities with increased security needs by including this crucial emergency funding for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program funding.”
NSGP helps houses of worship secure themselves against terrorist threats, a need that has sadly grown dramatically in recent years, and particularly since Hamas's terrorist attack on Israel on October 7.
The bill also includes a critical $14.3 billion in Emergency assistance to Israel, which will bolster Israel's ability to defend herself and replenish vital defense systems, including the Iron Dome and David's Sling missile defense programs, as well as $61.4 Billion in Emergency Assistance to Ukraine.
Jewish Federations urge Congress to pass this critical supplemental bill as soon as possible. To contact your elected officials, click here.
