The Jewish Federations of North America are pleased that the TikTok deal is moving forward, transferring control of the platform to a United States entity and thank President Trump for his persistence on this important issue. This is a critical step in protecting our communities from hate and extremism online. However, we cannot rest until the new ownership takes affirmative steps to remove the antisemitic content and correct the algorithm that blocks honest and fair information about Israel and the Jewish people.
 

The Jewish Federations of North America were the only Jewish organization to support the bill when it was introduced in March 2024 because of its terrible impact on the rise in antisemitism. Our community understands that social media is a major driver in this spike. We will monitor closely the work the new U.S. ownership structure to ensure TikTok takes meaningful, measurable action to curb antisemitism and safeguard all users and work with congress and the Trump administration to fulfill the goals of the Act.
