Dr. Bernd Wollschlaeger grew up in Nazi Germany in the shadow of his father, a highly decorated WWII tank commander and Nazi officer. Instead of letting his upbringing define him, however, he rallied against it, eventually converting to Judaism, emigrating to Israel and serving in the Israel Defense Forces as a medical officer. He describes his struggle and the decisions that followed in his book “A German Life: Against All Odds Change is Possible” and will share his story at the Jewish Federation’s Major Donor Reception.
Attendance requires a $5,000 minimum family commitment to the campaign. Adult children of major donors are encouraged to attend.
RSVP by Sept. 20 to 610-821-5500 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
