A ceremony to honor the six million Jews lost in the Holocaust. Join the Holocaust Resource Center of the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley to hear stories from Cologne, Germany, about survival, rescue and remembrance in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Rudolf Romberg, z”l, a long-time Allentown area resident, was born in Cologne, Germany, in 1923. As a teenage boy, he witnessed the rise of the Nazis, during which he was prohibited from continuing his education or from holding a job. His father and many other relatives did not survive the war. Rudy’s son, Len Romberg, will share his story.
Agnes Steffens, 90, a resident of the Terrace at Phoebe Allentown, was raised in a Catholic family in Cologne, Germany. Her father was part of an underground movement to help Jews escape the town. She will share her story in a video interview.
