Israel Association for Child Protection

In a given year, ELI provides therapy to over 5,000 children, in addition to thousands more parents and siblings, and handles over 10,000 calls from abused children, friends, neighbors and/or families on the hotline. No other agency in Israel focuses solely and specifically on the unique issues and methodologies for preventing and treating child abuse.

The Michael Levin Lone Soldier Center

The Lone Soldier Center serves as a "home away from home" for lone soldiers in the IDF - those who serve without the support of family in Israel. By providing housing, nutritious and holiday meals, mental rehabilitation and post trauma treatment, individual guidance, and community care, the Center ensures that no soldier feels alone.

Each year, the Center supports approximately 3,500 soldiers, including new immigrants and Israeli-born at-risk youth estranged from their families.

By addressing critical challenges like housing insecurity, mental health, and post-service transition, the Center, since 2009, empowers lone soldiers to draft into good roles, excel in the IDF, integrate into Israeli society, and build successful futures.

The Association for Israel’s Soldiers

The Association for Israel’s Soldiers nonprofit is the sole organization that the IDF has authorized to receive and distribute donations for the welfare and well-being of IDF soldiers. This means that 100% of all donations to the nonprofit go directly to benefit the servicepeople. The Association for Israel’s Soldiers is proud to support, empower, and care for Israel’s soldiers before, during, and after their military service. Numerous programs established and conducted by the association are made possible by the generous donations of supporters, companies, and organizations in Israel and worldwide.

Chuka Project

The Ariel ‘Chuka Project’ was created to honor the values of Staff Sergeant Ariel Ohana’s z”l, and to carry them forward through action. Ariel “Chuka” programs created to support lone soldiers, youth from trauma-affected regions like the South and North, and to help strengthen an entire generation growing up in the shadow of crisis. Because today, in Israel, every child needs support — and no one should be left feeling invisible.

Key Goals:
● Create inclusive, empowering community spaces.
● Strengthen personal, social, and communal resilience, especially in areas affected by conflict and trauma.
● Build supportive communities where everyone feels valued and connected.

HaOgen

A comprehensive volunteer-based initiative that ensures that families on the homefront are not alone during times of conflict.

Anchor for Families of Reserve Soldiers was founded to provide essential support to the families of reserve soldiers serving on the frontlines: Childcare, meal preparation, handling tasks, and tending to the family pet. Founded by former Knesset member Rachel Azaria, social activist Yael Yehieli, and Hi-Tech expert Racheli Shoreti, this initiative has quickly grown into a nationwide network of volunteers committed to easing the burden on families during times of war.

With over 300,000 troops actively protecting the nation, many families find themselves relying on a single caregiver, often the mother, who must balance the demands of everyday life with the added stress of loneliness and anxiety. HaOgen's primary goal is to provide a wide range of services to these families to ensure that Israel's homefront remains resilient during times of conflict.

Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) -

The Victims of Terror Fund which makes cash grants available to families who suffered severe damage and mental anguish as a result of the Hamas attack on Israel.

Israel Trauma Coalition (ITC) -

ITC’s Southern Resilience Centers have received a minimum of 4,000 requests for emotional help and to provide trauma care in evacuated areas. Demand is nearly three times what was recorded during previous crisis situations. Thirty-two centers have been set up for evacuees from the Gaza Envelope, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and ITC teams are on site assessing needs and providing trauma care in hotels and other centers.  ITC is also supporting the teams helping families during the process of identification of bodies and with those who have family members missing.

American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) -

has approved food vouchers, household items, toys, and medicine enabling families to make emergency purchases for supplies for shelters and safe rooms. (Both JAFI and JDC have also been responsible for the evacuation of families from the Israeli communities bordering Gaza to the center of the country to take them out of the war zone.)

In addition, the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley is supporting 3 other initiatives:

United Hatzalah -

This is a free volunteer Israeli-based emergency medical services organization throughout Israel. Funds will provide EMS volunteers with equipment to save lives and the protective equipment to keep themselves safe. Funds will be used to equip an additional 1,000 United Hatzalah volunteers with protective vests and helmets, oxygen tanks, defibrillators, trauma bandages, and tourniquets.

Yoav our Partnership 2Gether community -

Grants will be made available to our P2G community based on their needs for security renovations/upgrades in light of the proximity of attacks.  Since Yoav is just outside the Gaza envelope, they do not receive government security funding.  We will remain in touch with the mayor of Yoav, Natti Lerner, as the needs are assessed.

Yashar LaChayal -

This means 'direct to the soldier' and provides humanitarian support for Israeli soldiers such as much-needed toiletries, clothing, and other supplies ($5,000 outfits an army unit of 120 soldiers with socks, long underwear, warm jackets).
