Community to celebrate third year of LIFE & LEGACY

By Jim Mueth
JFLV Director of Planned Giving & Endowments

In the three years since the Lehigh Valley started the LIFE & LEGACY program, we’ve seen an overwhelming response to the goal of strengthening our community’s endowments. Our 10 participating agencies have built better relationships with their supporters and secured commitments that will carry them into the future.

On Sept. 9, the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley will host the community’s third annual celebration of these efforts. The virtual program, beginning at 7 p.m. via Zoom, will feature remarks from the Grinspoon Foundation, the reveal of our new community video, a special toast and a guest speaker.

Paul Margolis, a documentary and fine arts photographer, will discuss his stunning black and white photography of Jews, Christians and Muslims in Israel. His photos show merchants, fishermen, rock festivals and other compelling scenes that capture the vibrancy of daily life in Israel.

He will also answer questions about the use of black and white film rather than digital, his personal connection to Israel and his approach to documentary photography.

This year’s celebration will also honor those who made legacy commitments prior to the LIFE & LEGACY program.
