Liliane Dresner

Liliane Dresner, age 93, passed away quietly on February 27, 2026 at Edenwald Senior Living. She is survived by her son, Jerry Dresner (Kim Berney), and her daughter, Vicki Glaser (Lawrence); her grandchildren: Stuart Glaser (Jen Bennett), Eli Dresner (Danielle), Dr. Jeffrey Glaser (Martha), and Amy Swartz (Jordan); and her great-granddaughters, Goldie Lillian Dresner and Bernie Dresner. She was predeceased by her husband of forty-seven years, Jules Dresner.

Lil was born in Antwerp, Belgium. She was nearly 8 years old when the Nazis invaded her country. She, her mother, Alice Menkin, and her grandfather went into hiding and escaped detection for four years until the Allies liberated Antwerp. She and her mother then lived in a displaced persons camp until 1947, when a friend's son, serving in the U.S. Army, found them and arranged for them to come to New York City.

In New York, she graduated high school and met her future husband, Jules, who was also from Antwerp. They married in 1952, had their first child in 1954, and moved to Baltimore in 1955 when Jules took a job with Westinghouse Aerospace. They had a second child and had an active life in their adopted city. Lil raised her children and began working when they began attending school. Her most fulfilling job was the twenty years she spent as a school secretary at Fort Garrison Elementary School. She and Jules traveled frequently, had a wide social circle, and enjoyed their grandchildren and, more recently, her great-granddaughters. When Jules passed away in 1999, she rebuilt her life, culminating in her move to Edenwald in 2015.
